In my recovery I’ve had to discover a new kind of God. And it’s not that God has changed, but my perspectives have changed a lot. I keep encountering the God who says: “STOP! All the sacrifices you keep offering...I don’t need em. Stop. You’re good.” Any religious system that tells you you have to do something to get God to love you...any system that tells you bad things happen because God is punishing you...well...I think it’s time to reject that whole system. God is better and way more loving than that system.
