Week 1 - What we Stand For

In Genesis 32, Jacob was on the run…running from his past, running from everything. He gets in a wrestling match with God, down by the river. It changed everything. He found himself—he was given new identity. Living authentic lives is possible when we stop running from our wrongs and our past, when we face our demons and do the inner work. Authenticity happens when we own our story and we find our true identity. When this happens, then we can show up in life, be real, and shine our light in the darkest places.

Eric Birchfield will join me as our Guest Storyteller. Eric has been described as, “the most deadly alcoholic I know.” During a drunken binge, Eric wrestled with God…yep, down by the river [literally]. It was a profound moment that changed everything. He stopped running. He came home—the place where he discovered his true identity. Eric’s been sober since March 2020.
