Week 3 - Recovery & Relationships

Oct 22, 2022

Having a love life means it’s not just about you anymore. It’s now about the space you share together. A healthy relationship with your spouse, partner, or significant other consists of three things: Spark (the early infatuation), Substance (realizing you have shared values), and Sacrifice (love costs something, but it’s a price you gladly pay). You will begin sacrificing for one another when the trust builds and you enter into a flow in your relationship. You’ll begin extending grace to each other—and when you do this, you’re showing them what God is like.

Shandra Swenson - Faith Hope Love Counseling will join me as our Guest Storyteller. Shandra is a Clinical Mental Health Counselor and an expert in Trauma. She works with individuals & couples and her office is onsite at FREE. She’s gonna share some of what she’s seeing in her work and tools for building healthy relationships. We’ll discuss conflict and how to recognize the story you’re attaching to it; the walls that have been built up over time and what to do about them; and how to rebuild trust.
