Week 1 - Habits

In his book, Atomic Habits, James Clear writes: “You do not rise to the level of your goals; you fall to the level of your systems.” The problem might not be your goals, but the lack of systems which create the habits to reach your goals. Systems are the backbone to healthy habits—and if you’re in recovery from addiction, building a life of healthy habits is crucial.


Sgt. Maj. Tom Epting has been my sponsor for several years now, and I’m so honored to have him join us as our Guest Storyteller! This man walks with me in my recovery…giving constant reminders: stay close to your last drink, pray all the time, and take God with you wherever you go. Tom has 47 years of continuous sobriety and he’s developed some healthy habits along the way. He’s gonna share some of the habits that saved his life and the ones that keep him centered in God and recovery today.
